KIA ORA AND WELCOME TO WAIHEKE WINE TOURS LTD!

Waiheke Wine Tours was born during the Covid pandemic from a dream to create one of New Zealand’s leading wine tour experiences. Despite the challenges of the early years, our love for Waiheke Island kept that dream alive. Our tours are built around authenticity, connection and tūtakitanga, working with local guides, vineyards, artisans and small businesses. We share the island through its landscapes, stories, wines, food and people, while celebrating whakapapa, wairua and manaakitanga.

Our passionate local guides are knowledgeable, friendly and fully licensed, with your safety and enjoyment always our priority. Proudly holding Gold Qualmark Certification and backed by more than thirteen years of experience in travel and hospitality, we create memorable and authentic experiences. Our modern, air-conditioned vans provide comfort, Bluetooth speakers and even karaoke microphones for private tours. We are also committed to sustainability through our partnership with EKOS, carbon offsetting and encouraging reusable water bottles.

Our journey continues to grow with the launch of Auckland Wine Tours Ltd and the upcoming UNCORKED TOURS, New Zealand’s first cellar door on wheels. Our passion for transport and tourism runs deep, shaped by generations of family experience, from horse-drawn trams in Glasgow to New Zealand’s rail and coach industry. With travel and storytelling truly in our blood, we are proud to connect visitors with the people, places and stories that make New Zealand special. Above all, we invite every guest to slow down, connect and experience Waiheke as part of its living story.

Meet Sharon Killen

Founder & Managing Director, Waiheke Wine Tours Ltd

I’m Sharon Killen, founder and owner of Waiheke Wine Tours Ltd. What began with one vehicle and a vision has grown into a highly reviewed wine tour company, welcoming thousands of guests from around the world to experience Waiheke Island.

With a lifelong connection to transport and tourism, my passion has always been about more than wine—it’s about creating unforgettable experiences, connecting visitors with local people, and sharing the stories, landscapes and character that make Waiheke special. Launching during the challenging Covid period taught us the importance of adaptability, strong community relationships and genuine hospitality.

Today, our experiences are carefully designed to showcase the very best of the island while supporting local vineyards, restaurants, artists, breweries and other small businesses. Whether we’re hosting a couple celebrating a special occasion or coordinating a large group, our goal is always to provide an authentic, relaxed, personal and professionally organised experience that leaves guests feeling they’ve discovered the real Waiheke.
