Your host, Paora, brings 34 years of deep connection to Waiheke Island and a lifetime of cultural wisdom to this unique experience. From his early years supporting Kato Kauwhata at Piritahi Marae to learning ancient wisdom from his Uncle and Tohunga, Paora’s understanding of Māori traditions runs deep. As a filmmaker and storyteller, he brings a special perspective to sharing the island’s magic with visitors.

The Experience

● Morning Welcome (9:40 AM): traditional karakia (blessing) at Matiatia Bay
● Sacred Sites Tour (10:15 AM): whakapapa and stories from Paora; culturally significant sites and a local village; land wars and modern Māori life; contemporary art studio visit; boutique wine tastings and local produce; vineyard lunch with island/ocean views; open kōrero (conversation)
● Lunch Experience (12:00 PM): at Three Seven Two or Ki Maha overlooking Onetangi Beach; stories of local marine life (whales, orcas, dolphins, stingrays)
● Tour concludes 3pm with a final blessing

No, lunch is not included in the Scenic Wine Tour.

However, we’ll stop at Batch Winery, Waiheke Island’s highest vineyard, where you’ll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy lunch at your own pace. Batch offers a delicious seasonal menu, outstanding wines and breathtaking 360-degree views across the Hauraki Gulf, Auckland and the Coromandel Peninsula.
